History
On July 3, 1988 Atari/Ragtimes Enterprises, a joint-venture between Atari Operations and Bob Snow, opened Commander Ragtime's Midway of Fun, Food & Games in the 21,000 square foot third floor of the Church Street Exchange in downtown Orlando FL.1,2 On opening day Commander Ragtime had about $500,000 worth of video games on site, including shooting crossbows at targets, Electronic Basketball, pinball, and pool tables.1 The midway of fun was designed to look like a 19th century warehouse with replicas of airplanes hanging from the ceiling, an electric train going round and round above patron's heads and a big model of the Queen Elizabeth ocean liner. Commander Ragtime's Midway attracted about 700 patrons a night, during its opening week.1

Bob Snow sold the Church Street Exchange in 1989 to focus on his Las Vegas properties.. The huge success of the Church Street Exchange prompted Disney to open Pleasure Island and Universal to open City Walk. With the new competition the Church Street Exchange began loosing patrons. By 2001 Rosie O’Grady’s and other attractions were sold off.3 Today the Church Street Exchange has been converted to office space. 4
